SCAD presents the 2012 SCADDY Awards,
one of the nation’s largest college-level advertising
competitions,

Finalists currently being displayed at a free exhibit at
Gutstein Gallery through February 10
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah
College of Art and Design will host the 2012 SCADDY Awards Friday, January 27,
6 p.m. at the Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. The annual SCADDY
Awards honor student achievement in the advertising arts and related creative
disciplines. SCAD students from advertising, graphic design, illustration,
photography, animation, motion media, visual effects, writing, and film &
television entered over 2,000 pieces in this year's competition.
Over 120 of the top student
submissions are currently being exhibited at the SCADDY Awards Exhibition at
Gutstein Gallery, 201 East Broughton Street through February 10.
A judging panel composed of
respected industry professionals will review the student submissions and decide
the award winners. This year’s competition will be highlighted by
Tom O’Keefe, Executive Creative Director North America of Draftfcb, one of the
largest global advertising agency networks, presenting “The Draftfcb Award Show
Grant,” a $5,000 academic grant for the Best of Show-winning student(s) to
attend a professional advertising awards program.
This year’s judges include Rick
Anwyl, founder of the Center for Design Study, Vincent Berbtault, executive
creative director of SPANX, Christian Herrity Sr., art director at Brunner,
Inc., Toby Past, vice-president and creative director of Razorfish and Carol
Vick, partner in Keliher & Vick Creative Recruiters.
Winners of Gold SCADDY Awards will
be forwarded to the National ADDY Award Competition, the advertising industry’s
awards competition for professionals.
Admission to both the exhibition
and the award presentation is free and open to the public.
