Grant Park Summer Shade Festival

I had an awesome time this weekend at the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival. As it turns out, I got some very positive feedback on my work. I sold out of "Pajama Party" and "Owl Me to Introduce Myself" prints. I also got some great ideas for ways to improve the next time around.

Out to Launch!

Unlike standard career fairs, at Out to Launch, students display work while employers circulate and select students to interview informally. This year serves as the fifth anniversary of Out to Launch at SCAD Atlanta. Here's some photos from the evening and my booth!

Out to Launch

I've been chosen to participate in this year's Out to Launch, reverse career fair at SCAD Atlanta! Only 10 illustration students were hand-picked by faculty, and I am lucky enough to be one of them. Come visit my booth for a screen printed post card and some other free giveaways!

Building on the tremendous success and growth over the last four years, the Savannah College of Art and Design announced it will host its fifth annual Out to Launch, a "reverse career fair" in which art and design students showcase their work for potential employers, art directors and creative leaders. The event takes place May 3-4 at SCAD Atlanta.

2012 Calendar

For this most recent project, I collaborated with 4 fellow Grad students to create a full screen-printed calendar. We each illustrated specific months focusing on strange and unusual holidays. I chose September (my birth month), October, and the back page of contact information.

SCADDY Award Winner

The results are in, and I've been chosen for 2 (that's right 2) Silver SCADDY Awards! With competition from over 2,000 other entries, my "Thank You" greeting cards were chosen for Silver SCADDY Awards in the areas of "Brand Identity Stationary" and "Advertising Illustration." My official awards are on the way up from Savannah as we speak. I'd like to thank the judges for their excellent taste, as well as all my friends & family who supported me along the way.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah College of Art and Design will host the 2012 SCADDY Awards Friday, January 27, 6 p.m. at the Trustees Theater, 216 E. Over 120 of the top student submissions are currently being exhibited at the SCADDY Awards Exhibition at Gutstein Gallery, 201 East Broughton Street through February 10.

A judging panel composed of respected industry professionals will review the student submissions and decide the award winners.   This year’s competition will be highlighted by Tom O’Keefe, Executive Creative Director North America of Draftfcb, one of the largest global advertising agency networks, presenting “The Draftfcb Award Show Grant,” a $5,000 academic grant for the Best of Show-winning student(s) to attend a professional advertising awards program.

This year’s judges include Rick Anwyl, founder of the Center for Design Study, Vincent Berbtault, executive creative director of SPANX, Christian Herrity Sr., art director at Brunner, Inc., Toby Past, vice-president and creative director of Razorfish and Carol Vick, partner in Keliher & Vick Creative Recruiters.

Winners of Gold SCADDY Awards will be forwarded to the National ADDY Award Competition, the advertising industry’s awards competition for professionals.
